Cognitive Distortions

Cognitive distortions are ways that our own minds convince us of things which are not really true;  things we say, whether aloud or inside our heads, in order to reinforce negative or incorrect thinking.
"I am a lousy salesperson;"  "I'm not very artistic;"  "I sing terribly;" are all examples of cognitive distortions, of which there seems to be ten or fifteen which are more common.

a.) Fallacy of Fairness:  Feeling resentful when we think we know what is "fair," and other people won't agree with us.  "It's more fair to spread the wealth around."  "The 'rich' should pay their fair share!"
b.)  Blaming:  Holding others responsible for one's own feelings or pains.  "Stop making me feel bad about myself!"  "I inherited this economy!"  "The Japanese tsunami/Republicans/Arab spring/European crises/Wall Street is why the recovery is dragging!"
c.)  Shoulds:  "Oil companies should give up their tax breaks."  "Congress should be more willing to compromise on raising taxes."  "We should develop more Green Jobs."
d.)  Always Right:  "I had several plans to turn the economy around."  "The Republican plan will cause 50 million Americans to lose their health insurance."  "This is the day the oceans stopped their rise..."

Just to name a few.  You can Google (or Bing) "Cognitive Distortions" for yourself.  It's an eye-opener to see ourselves on the list.

" I FEEL Your Pain"

Vacationing at beautiful Martha's Vinyard on the Massachusetts coast, one-term President and former community agitator Barack Obama explained that the lack of economic recovery under his administration was because the Republicans in Congress would not "compromise" with him. Oddly, Mr. Obama is yet to put forth any real plan for repairing the nation's economy, except for his suggestion that "the wealthy" should "pay their fair share" of taxes. You see, in BarryO's la-la-land, when the top ten percent of income-earners in the country already pay 50% of the Federal tax bill, well, they're just being greedy.  Of course, when the bottom 30% of income earners pay absolutely zero in Federal taxes, and while a quarter-to one-half of those non-payers actually get a "refund" check, well, that's more like the way things should be, at least in his pie-in-the-sky Socialist Utopia.

How's that hopey-changey thingy workin' for ya??  Thought so.

His Imperial Majesty

In a patently obvious attempt to woo Hispanic voters, most of  whom are abandoning Captain Obama's Titanic Ship of State ( and I just noticed the SOS in that), the former community agitator declared unilaterally that criminal alien invaders who "have no criminal record" will not be deported by His Lordship's "Justice" Department, nor by the Department of Homeland Insecurity, according to Cabinet Member Janet Clownitano.  You may know her as the one who is looking under beds for "right-wing extremists" and the mysterious Depends, diaper, and bra bombers while claiming that our southern border is "secure," and that Americans are "safer now than before 9/11."

Silly me, here I thought that all Federal laws were meant to be at least acknowledged when overriding them:

US Code-Section 1325- Improper Entry by Alien:

(a) Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection;
misrepresentation and concealment of facts Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

(b) Improper time or place; civil penalties Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty.   

Now, I may not be the swiftest horse in the race, but the citation above sure LOOKS like a law, and, simply by UNLAWFULLY entering and/or residing in the good ol' US of A, such an alien commits a crime.  Perhaps if a few hundred of our amigos were to camp out in the White House residential wing  for a month or two, Captain Dunderpants might understand the correlation between unlawful entry and lawbreaking, not to mention the consumption of massive amounts of taxpayer money via Federal, state, and local resources.  Perhaps hearing a few hundred voices every day saying: "Pazz de tequila, gringo.  Wha do joo hab to eat aroun here?"

Directing Federal government employees, (who by the way, are paid by you and I by means of our "unfair" taxes), to ignore the less politically comfortable provisions of the law is in itself a crime, in this case punishable by impeachment, at least according the his "Archaic Document of "negative liberties" heretofore called "The Constitution of the United States of America."  Of course a Kenyan/Indonesian closet Muslim and compadre of terrorist anarchists would be expected to blatantly ignore that pesky Article I, Section 1 regarding "all Legislative authority...shall be vested in Congress."  

Curiously enough, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Castro, Mao and Chavez acted pretty much the same way in order to tighten their grip on the throats of their "subjects" (who were once called "citizens").  Wake up and smell the Starbucks, America!  You are being played like a dumb trout by this guy and his sycophants.  Funny that the "antichrist" of the Apocalypse, "the man of peace," was revealed after 3-1/2 years to be the son of the devil: an oppressive world dictator who couldn't be stopped.  3-1/2 years.  We could get some very troubling "revelations" sometime around June of 2012.

Today's Financial Factoids

A.)  45.7 million Americans--about 20 percent of the population--now rely on federal "food stamps," now replaced largely by SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Plan) debit cards.. Since October 2008, the number of Americans relying on the Federal Soup Line has jumped by 48 percent (that's 14.9 million people, about equal to the number of illegal aliens still in America, now that Ubermeister O's "Auntie Zeituni" has been granted asylum; granted so she could escape mythical persecution in Kenya) and enrollment in the program has increased for 32 consecutive months.  Odd that Z-meister O's inaugural stage show was 30 months ago.  Gotta be the tsunami's fault.  Arab spring?

Remember, these things "stimulate the economy:

B.)  You may wish to ask your Congressman (or woman, depending on a number of factors, particularly in Barney Frank's district) why some $6 Billion of your money is "spread around" to corn growers/ethanol producers each and every year, and why the price of feed corn (that stuff that pigs,chickens, turkeys and cows eat, not to mention dogs, guinea pigs, and parrots) has tripled since the "E-85 ethanol mandate" was begun, and why is E-85 gasoline mix more expensive than straight gas if ethanol only costs $1.50 a gallon to produce.  Only a complete and utter moron, one who would have to study diligently just to become an imbecile, would burn his food supply as fuel.  

Oh, sorry, we are talking about Congress, aren't we?  My bad.

C.)  Look into the Obama "American jobs" tour bus, purchased from Canadian manufacturer Prevost by the Alinsky Administra, drat, I meant the OBAMA Administration for a piddling 1.1 million of YOUR tax dollars, not his campaign funds.  
Expect to see it listed on e-bay November 9th, 2012.  

Job Creation and Economic Stimuli

If ever there was a reason to fire the former Community Agitator who now occupies the White House, his own hand-picked assistants give us new reasons nearly every day:
Perhaps you recall Press Secretary Jay (no, not Art) Carney stating that "Unemployment checks create jobs."  That statement clearly demonstrates this so-called Administration's utter and complete lack of understanding monetary reality in an almost Orwellian miasma of doublespeak.  Unemployment checks, also known as "your tax monies," or worse yet, "borrowed from China monies," only partially replace former paychecks.  "Spreading it around" creates nothing.  Nothing!  These "economic stimuli" and "job creators" only incentivize the lethargic to become even more lethargic, and to become wholly dependent upon "government" for bare-minimum survival.  Sounds like Socialism to me...
An even better reason comes from Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who repeated the White House mantra that "Food Stamps, now called SNAP, stimulate the economy."  I see.  So when someone no longer can afford to buy the food that got them this far along in life because of the massive assault on the economy created primarily by this current "Administration," with help from the collective genius of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, another government program to redistribute your money is the only salvation.  This "Administration" firmly believes that all things should come from Government since we "little people" so obviously need its hand of divine guidance in every aspect of  our meager existence:  GM.  TARP.  SNAP.  AIG.  FNMA.  STIMULUS.  "OBAMACARE."  UNEMPLOYMENT.  WELFARE.  QUANTITATIVE EASING.  16.7 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT. FAST FOOD.

Enough!  This Federal Government has grown by 20% since "Teh One" usurped the Presidency.  Federal salaries have risen, in many instances, from the low 80's to well over 125 thousand dollars, plus a "perk" package that even the Teamsters envy.  Our Nation's creditworthiness, for the first time in America's 235 years, has been downgraded.  And this wilfully ignorant Usurper blames: a. Bush; b. Japan's tsunami; c. European failing Socialist states; d. plain old "bad luck." e. Your "greed." YOURS!  Of course, his mirror only reflects a "god-like Hero" who will ultimately be blessed, and thanked, by all for "saving" the nation.

My next post will be less political and more scientific, unless, as a proud member of Obama's Enemies List, I am somehow restrained in the name of "fairness" by the Ministry of Truth or the Thought Police.  Pray for me.  Silently and not in public, of course.
