What's in a Name?

Recent "ONE-WORD to describe this current Congress" poll results from Pew Research Center.  The size of the type indicates the number of times each word was used.
 It seems that 64% of Americans believe that this Congress is doing a "POOR JOB,"
but ONLY 59% want to "THROW THEM ALL OUT" in November's election, or by Recall.
And a whopping 4% said something "positive" about this Congress.
Remember, Representatives Kurt Schrader, David Wu, Earl Blumenauer, and Peter DeFazio  voted FOR "Obamacare." 
Be sure to thank them for their efforts in November.  Or sooner.

My Country, 'Tis of Thee

Thirteen lawsuits have been filed by thirteen states' Attorneys General against the Federal Government's attempt to dictate health insurance coverage, a "right" and power remarkably absent from the US Constitution; a "right" as ephemeral as the "reproductive rights" discovered on the back side of the Constitution, written in inks only visible when viewed through the lenses of the Urim and Thummim.  Thirty-nine other states' legislatures are weighing the plausibility of lawsuit, or of outright refusal to submit to this leftist/elitist agenda.
Except Oregon.   Apparently Oregon's legislature has no problem with taxpayers funding cosmetic abortions.
Apparently, Oregon's Governor LePetomaine, I mean, Kulongoski (so hard to tell them apart) has no issue with 16,000 new IRS agents examining every citizen's bank accounts to look for "healthcare insurance cheats:" you know, those of you who don't buy "adequate" healthcare insurance, adequate being  defined by some 3rd level civil service drone in a Washington, D.C. basement office cubicle.
Apparently, Oregon's Attorney General has no opinion as to the Constitutionality of Federally mandated insurance, required of all residents on penalty of a $2,500 "tax" levied by the Federal Government.  The 'Penalty Tax" is so named because a "fine" would be too obviously unconstitutional and would be overturned by any court higher than tennis; but the Federal Government  has the power to tax any-and-every thing or person in its  realm.  Constitutional crisis averted. 

On the bright side, most high-level Federal employees are exempted from the requirements of this healthcare law, and it is quite probable that Muslims will get a "religious exemption" due to existing fatwas against risk-pools.  Amish Christians may also be exempted.  And possibly Auntie Zetunia, unless she gets deported, which certainly could happen, at least in some parallel universe.

Dear (Congressman):

Doggedly adhering to the Party platform, you have voted in favor of the most blatantly unconstitutional bill in history, the alleged health care "reform" bill, and its addenda.
Congress has no Constitutional authority to mandate insurance of any sort, yet you voted in favor of that mandate.
Federal tax revenues will now be used to fund cosmetic abortions, and you voted in favor.
States' rights have been usurped by this bill, and you voted in favor.
Individuals are to be scrutinized by the IRS at every turn, and you voted in favor.
The vast majority of Oregonians opposed Federal health care mandates, and you voted in favor.

If you had plans for another term in elective office, you had best revise them.

History Lesson for Today

The history of the present (Congress and Administration) is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

(Congress) has refused Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

(Congress) has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, has utterly neglected to attend to them.

(Congress) has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

(Congress) has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

(Congress) has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

(Congress AND this Administration) has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.

(This Administration) has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

(This Administration) has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

(This Administration) has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

(This Administration) has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
For abolishing the free System of Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

Black Sunday

The Death of the American Dream in one irreversible leap off the precipice into the maw of Socialism:

Thus far, the Obama message to you has been:

1. I win; you lose.
2. My will; not the will of the people.
3. Government of Obama, by Obama, for Obama; not government of the people, by the people, for the people.
4. Corrupt House rules and autocracy; not play by the rules and democracy.
5. “I’ll tread on you” now steps on “Don’t tread on me.”
6. “I, the President”; not “We, the People.”
7. “All men are created equal” but I am more than equal to others.
8. “The dissent of the president” overrules “the consent of the governed.”
9. “Give them tyranny and give them debt” replaces “Give me liberty or give me death.”
10. “That government is best which governs most” supersedes “That government is best which governs least.”

You will now receive health care based upon the decisions made by a fourth-level bureaucrat who couldn't hold a job at the DMV.  Enjoy.
But at least welfare recipients will get rhinoplasties, cosmetic abortions, and liposuction all for "free."
Oh, yes, and you also get to enjoy $900 billion in new taxes to pay for lower medical standards.  Happy yet?
It's great to be an American.  Remember those "huddled masses, yearning to be Free?"  They now have nowhere to go. Nowhere.  Be sure to thank your Congressman for selling you out.  Best do it in Spanish, because universal amnesty for illegals is next.

On the brighter side, Guy Fawkes Night is November 5, about the same time as our next mid-term national elections.  Send Congress a real message this year:  pink slips.  Let them all have a taste of unemployment.  Or gunpowder, whichever you think will get their attention.

In much the same fashion as a blind hog finds the occasional acorn, this congress is seeking to pass an abysmally poor healthcare "reform" bill which is really a proposal to Federalize all health insurance in the United States, complete with penalties for non-compliance, a direct violation of the Fifth Amendment!
Further, this bill uses the IRS as a policing agency against the American people, another Constitutional distress, and blurs the line between Congress and Administration as "separate but equal."

Did I mention the trillion-dollar cost?  Gee, I sure hope our faltering economy can absorb a tax hike of such Brobdingnagian proportion in order to offer health care doled out as if on ration cards.
Instead of "reforming" the finest health care in the world, how about focusing on reforming Congress, where real-time bribery, pandering, and theft is occurring?
