Obesity Czar Michelle Obama has determined what your child should eat at school, given that little Johnny is roly-poly and destitute.  Gone are fish sticks, mystery meat and "gravy," and white bread.  The picture below shows a "suggested" school lunch for the "typical" 5th-grader under Nanny O's plan,
Question 1:  Which three items on the plate will NOT be consumed by any 5th grader and will end up in the overflowing trash cans?
Question 2:  Do any of you recall seeing a school lunch plate where any of the vegetables were recognizably green or white and not a shade of gray??
Question 3a:  How many times can the whole wheat roll pictured below be tossed across the lunchroom before exploding?  3b:  How many can be kept aloft at one time?
Question 4:  Will all fresh fruits be served in a Chinese-made aluminum measuring cup, and will all milk and condiments be served in a Chinese-made glass or phenyl plastic cup, and will all meals be served on Chinese-made dishes and consumed with Chinese-made plastic utensils and transported on a Chinese-made plastic tray?
Question 5:  Bottom line:  how much more money will this meal plan cost the taxpayers?

I just learned that the President of the United States, Barack Obama, has unilaterally declared the "Defense of Marriage Act" to be unconstitutional, a clear usurpation of the powers of the Supreme Court, and a direct violation of his clearly defined Constitutional authority as well as his Oath of Office. Therefore, the Obama Administration has abdicated its responsibility and is refusing to defend DOMA in federal litigation. This is a critical moment -- it's not up to one man, even our President, to decide which laws are constitutional and which are not. That's why we have courts, and every law passed by Congress deserves a full and fair hearing.

It's time for Congress to intervene and make sure that the Defense of Marriage Act is vigorously defended in federal court. If President Obama disagrees with DOMA, he should call on Congress to repeal it. But every federal law, especially one overwhelmingly passed by Congress less than fifteen years ago, is worthy of the best case that can be made in its defense.

For the sake of marriage and our constitutional system of government, with checks and balances between the branches, I strongly urge you to join a Congressional effort to intervene on behalf of DOMA in the pending federal litigation.

You and I know that, had this declaration been made by any Republican President, there would be a national outcry for impeachment. That call for impeachment is bubbling beneath the surface, even now. America will not allow thuggery in the Oval Office, nor will She allow monarchial delusions to be realized, no matter who attempts to smooth-talk Her into sedation.

Dirty Harry Reid is threatening a shutdown of the federal government if no agreement can be reached on B.O.'s trillion-dollar deficit fueled budget, meaning he wants the Republicans to cave in and approve this bankrupter.

So, what if they stop the federal government and nobody notices?

Standard & Poor's Case-Schiller Home Price Indices for Nov-Dec of 2010 have just been released:
Portland area home prices came in at Fourth Place, with aggregate prices dropping an additional 7.4% compared to the same time frame in 2009.
Gasoline is 40 cents a gallon more than in Dec. 2009.  American Drilling in the Gulf of Mexico is still banned in direct defiance of court orders. 
Bread is up 60 cents per loaf.  So far.
Lettuce is up nearly 60 percent, as are most fresh fruits and vegetables.  That should help fight obesity, right, Michelle?
Shall we discuss Portland's property taxes?  Hint:  they did not go down for that same period, nor any other, for that matter.  And just wait 'til you file your 1040 this year, you're gonna love it.  And Portland's school board wants a new half-billion-dollar bond measure, just $40 or $60  more per month from you to renovate aging facilities and deter using existing funding for anything other than wage/benefit packages for employees.

The Future of the Middle East, and of the West

Egypt.  Bahrain.  Libya.  Jordan.  Turkey.  Syria. Pakistan.  Lebanon.  Iraq.  Iran.  Afghanistan.

 Islam and democracy are mutually exclusive.  Democracy cannot simultaneously remain in effect and accept Allah's edicts of sovereignty in all spheres of life.  Where the only source of law is the shari'ah, there is no room for democracy, which is based on man's laws and therefore contradicts Allah's laws.  The concept of majority rule, like all other conceptions of democracy, cannot exist in Islam.  Islam purports to include the whole of human wisdom to the end of history, so not only is it allegedly perfect and immutable, but under Islam, accepting Western values is not only forbidden but is the equivalent to apostasy. 

A Pew Research poll published in June 2010 proves illustrative:  According to the poll,  

95% of the Egyptian public would welcome an Islamic political state, 

84% support the death penalty for those who leave Islam;  

82% favor stoning people who commit adultery,  

77% favor whipping/cutting off of hands for theft and robbery, 

59% side with Muslim fundamentalists, and only 27% side with the modernizers 

54% believe suicide bombings can be justified, and  

52% support Hamas.  

82% of Egyptians dislike the U.S., the highest unfavorable rating among the 18 Muslim nations Pew surveyed.

And Shari'ah is being considered in current court procedures in this country already.  Congressman Keith Ellison, who took his Congressional Oath with his hand on a copy of the Q'uran, is already insinuating the principles of Shari'ah into bits of legislation which he presents.  

We all chuckled when Ken Jennings welcomed "our new computer overlords" on Jeapordy, are you ready to welcome your Muslim overlord?  

Lock and load.  This may get messy.  The next planeload of "martyrs" won't hit a skyscraper, they'll aim for a football or baseball stadium.  I was actually surprised that the Super Bowl was without incident, unless you count the horrific halftime with the Blackeyed Peas:  100,000 infidels killed at a time, what would be more pleasing to their bloodlusting Allah?  Or have you already forgotten our own Christmas Tree Bomb-bungler?  Mass murder is the game:  And how better to insult and terrorize than by bombing innocent sports fans with their evil beer guzzling and scantily clad cheerleader/whores and their gobbling of unclean hot dogs?
