"OCCUPY MOVEMENT" GAINS NEW VOICE!!

Thanks to Dr. GOG, here is the NEW VOICE of  the"Occupy Wall Street" anarchistic movement.
Prepare to be dazzled by her lucid soliloquy and extremely cogent arguments in defining and defending the goals of the "movement.:"

Become the 1 Per Cent

I was unable to discover who authored this piece, but it is worth sharing with you:

By this time, most people are bored with the Occupiers around the world. They smell from poor or non-existent bathing habits, their chants are mindless and idiotic, and the crowds who repeat every phrase of what a speaker says remind me of a very bad zombie movie.
Don’t get me wrong. There’s a lot to protest. “Crony capitalism” is not capitalism. Governments that promised to back up bad mortgages which Congress forced lending institutions to make is not the definition of a free market.  "Forgiving" student loans with taxpayer money is simply forcing working adults to finance someone else's kid's education as well as that of their own kids.
Yett far too many of these "protestors" don’t offer any real solutions. Most advocate some form of "wealth redistribution." Not only is that theft, but it doesn’t work, not even for "Robin Hood,"  who, incidentally, robbed the tax collectors of his day, that is, the Government, not "the rich." Then there’s the problem of people just not wanting to work hard. Here’s a perfect example from a 38-year-old protestor from Toronto:

“It’s weird protesting on Bay Street [Toronto’s financial district]. You get there at 9 a.m. and the rich bankers who you want to hurl insults at and change their worldview have been at work for two hours already. And then when it’s time to go, they’re still there. I guess that’s why they call them the one per cent. I mean, who wants to work those kinds of hours? That’s the power of greed.”

That’s right. poster boy:  If you want to succeed, you have to put in the time and the effort. There is a payoff for hard work. Of course, not every protestor thinks this way, but there are a lot that do. And that’s scary!
By the way, not every person who works in a bank or a financial district is a one-percenter. But you can bet your bottom dollar that the way to become a 1-percenter or even a 25-percenter is not by protesting against them. Get angry if you want, then drop your sign and drums, take a shower, and get a job. Take anything that you can find no matter what it pays. Learn everything you can about that job. Then move on to the next one. Get to work early and be the last worker to leave. Become an expert in one thing. Make yourself indispensable.
When I graduated from college, I started out stocking shelves in a grocery store. I worked 70 hours a week. The manager offered me the assistant manager’s job at a new store they were opening. At the time, I had a bicycle for transportation and was living in a one-room apartment. I declined the offer, because I knew I needed to go to graduate school. I worked my way through graduate school. When I graduated, I took a teaching job that paid me $10,000 per year with no health insurance or retirement program.
I took what I could get. Saved what I could save. Spent only what I had earned. Didn’t envy anybody or protest against those who were better off.

No one ever became prosperous by complaining and protesting unless you're  Jesse Jackson or  Al Sharpton.

TRUTHINESS IN LABELS

I purchased, last Saturday,  several "5-oz" cans of Valley Fresh Chicken, (net wt.142g.)  The labels describe "one serving" as being 2oz, (or 56g) "DRAINED," and state that the cans contain "about 2 servings."

2 x 56 grams =112 grams, correct?  Of the seven cans we tested, the average weight of chicken inside was 2.25oz, or 63g total.  The rest was plain old salt water.
How in the name of New Math does 7g of chicken equate to "about" a 56g serving?  It's only short by 49 grams, a mere 86%!
Isn't that "close enough?"  By comparison, your $3.79-per-gallon gas would actually cost you about $7.049 at that rate of deception.  Three-eighty a gallon is painful enough, so would you like to pay $141 rather than $75 for your 20-gallon fill?  Then why accept it in the grocery line?
This deceptive practice teeters on the precipice of deliberate consumer fraud through such fallacious labelling, equating to the old "thumb-on-the-scale" of the dishonest grocers and butchers put out of business long ago.
While a few cents per can is not a great deal of money, the thousands of cans sold throughout the state every month by Fred Meyer and other retailers leads to a sizeable sum of ill-gotten gain which is being raked in by deceit; never a sound business practice.

I have yet to hear from the state AG's office, Valley Fresh Foods, or their parent company, Hormel.

I wonder why....

COMPARING VIEWPOINTS

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."

"They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them... as a way to explain their frustrations."

By now, every person on the planet knows who authored the second quote:  then-Presidential-candidate Barack H. Obama, speaking at a San Francisco fund-raising dinner in April, 2008.
But do you know the author of the eerily similar former quotation?  Let me give you a few hints:

He quickly rose from relative obscurity to become his country's most powerful leader.
He transformed governmental and economic policies in his country.
He was merciless to his political rivals and enemies.
He orchestrated questionable policies toward adversarial countries.
He frequently acted without normal governmental approval nor established procedures.
He initiated several "five-year" economic improvement plans.
He markedly increased the role of Government in business, healthcare, and citizens' personal lives.
He promised "unity" to his constituents, but brought about extensive repression of contrary opinions.
His efforts to "improve" his country led to nationwide famines and economic upheaval.

His regime was completely denounced by his successors.

Who would speak of America in such a fashion, and who would have his thoughts so echoed by an American Presidential candidate?  Give up?
The answer:  Joseph V. Stalin, first General Secretary of the Communist Party, and Lenin's successor as Premier of the Soviet Union.

And how's your coffee smelling today?
