re: proposed banning of lead shot/ammunition.

This is not the stupidest idea I have ever heard, oh, no:
The stupidest idea, by far, is the proposal to define carbon as a "pollutant," which, since the decree is coming from one carbon-based life form in a carbon-based ecosystem wherein carbon is fundamentally neccessary for ALL known lifeforms on the planet, is on every level laughable to the point of tearful exhaustion.  I can barely exhale the carbon dioxide from my bloodstream.
But you've now come up with a close second:  banning lead-based ammunition.  Perhaps we could all revert to using only obsidian-tipped spears and arrows for our hunting trips and our private home defense. Perhaps all police officers, and all armed forces as well, could revert to the use of onagers and trebuchets, rather than dangerous gunpowder-projected lead pellets.
Buffoonery is alive and well amongst the drones and crones in D.C.
